Bold Technologies Launches Cloud-based Automation Service

Communication Service Solutions to leverage Manitou Cloud Services by Bold Technologies to greatly extend customer features

Colorado Springs, CO – September 24, 2015. Bold Technologies, a leading provider of central station and PSIM software, is excited to announce the launch of its new Manitou Cloud Services platform. Created around the UL 827 Central Station Host Services certification, Manitou Cloud Services delivers a cloud-based automation service for central stations. Manitou Cloud Services provides a cost-effective hosted solution with access to advanced technology – an ideal option for many central stations.

The Manitou Cloud Services platform is designed to provide customers with the necessary infrastructure to operate their alarm center through a secure online interface. Manitou Cloud Services includes nearly the entire Manitou suite, including the alarm automation software, PBX system, receivers, and telecom lines.

Manitou Cloud Services is unique in the industry due to its extensive functionality. To provide a stronger and more comprehensive solution, Bold Technologies has partnered with two industry-leading telecommunication companies, OneTel and Communication Service Solutions. Monitoring centers looking for more features will have the full power of Manitou available to them without having to purchase and maintain costly infrastructure. Virtually the entire Manitou product line can be supported in the hosted environment, including the popular Bold MediaGateway, TwoWayVoice, BoldTrak, BoldNet, and the UniversalConnector. With the Manitou Cloud Services platform, users also have the option to add accounting integration via SedonaCloud and video integration from I-View Now. Shaun Blair, Director of SaaS for Bold Technologies states, “Adding partners who would ensure the highest quality of service, protection, and growth potential for users was our key focus. We are proud of the entire end-to-end structure behind it.”

The Manitou Cloud Services platform offers the most secure, flexible, and highly redundant solution in the industry. It resides in a fully-staffed, 24/7, SSAE 16 Type II, HIPAA compliant redundant data center. “Securing the right facility for this launch was of the highest importance for Bold,” says Blair. “Dozens of customers have been using our infrastructure for business continuity and multi-site back-up options for several years. However, for this solution, we retooled our infrastructure and added hundreds of thousands of dollars of advanced equipment and technology; the resulting Manitou Cloud Services platform will redefine the industry’s standards for a Cloud-based automation service.”

The Manitou Cloud Services data center is in a premier location due to the extremely low numbers of natural disasters in Colorado and for its central location to the East and West coasts. Additional features
of the Manitou Cloud Services data center include a facility-wide UPS, redundant generators, excellent power, automatic fire suppression, redundant cooling and HVAC, a redundant network, and multiple tier one internet carriers via BGP4.

The Manitou Cloud Services solution provides business opportunities for both new and existing central stations. New central stations can meet UL requirements for power, telephony, receiver, HVAC, fire suppression, and automation software without all of the cost and headache. Existing central stations with large account volume benefit from the ability to meet new UL 827 certification requirements for triple redundancy. Chuck Speck, President of Bold Technologies states, “We already have nearly 400 customers who would benefit financially and operationally from the solution. These customers can complement their existing infrastructure and eliminate the need for additional servers and equipment while still meeting the new redundancy conditions.” Speck continues, “We are excited to offer a robust and full-featured solution that provides benefit to our current customers as well as to monitoring centers looking at Bold Technologies for the first time.”
